terra verde foamed ceramic tiles : peterkraft

This interdisciplinary project was developed within the scope of the “Talents for Tiles“ competition, which was advertised by ”Ceramica d´Imola”, Italy. Sealing of the soil surface in cities is already a serious problem which will increase in the future. Here a concept is presented to solve this problem. The 'Terra Verde' concept describes a sustainable system, which returns nature and quality of life back to the city.

Dieses Projekt entstand für den Wettbewerb „Talents for Tiles“, ausgeschrieben von der Firma „Ceramica d´Imola“, Italien. Die flächendeckende Versiegelung von natürlichem Boden in Städten, die schon heute und noch mehr in der Zukunft immer mehr Probleme aufwirft, versucht dieser Konzeptvorschlag zu lösen. 'Terra Verde' beschreibt ein nachhaltiges System, welches Natur und Lebensqualität in die Stadt zurückbringt.

more than 50 different ceramic composites were created and fired to test their characteristics
